TRAINING
Developing horses with purpose - from foundation through the show pen.
Training
-
Training is built around the individual horse, with an emphasis on understanding, responsiveness, balance and a solid foundation that carries into the show pen.
Young Horses
-
Young horses are developed with an emphasis on clear communication, correct fundamentals and confidence. Each stage builds on the last, creating a foundation for continued development.
Show Horses
Show preparation goes beyond practicing maneuvers. Horses are schooled to stay responsive, confident and consistent when the environment changes from the arena at home to the show pen.
Rider Development
Rider development goes beyond learning what to do. It is developing the feel, timing and awareness to recognize what the horse needs and adjust accordingly.
Wilson Performance Horses offers training, showing and coaching for horses and riders at different stages of development. Whether the goal is developing a young horse, preparing for the show pen, improving as a rider, or simply getting more from the horse you have, the work is built around the individual horse, rider and goals.
With more than 27 years in the industry, Corey’s approach has been shaped by experience - from working alongside other trainers early in his career to years of developing, showing and teaching horses and riders. One of his strengths is breaking down complicated pieces of training into something horses and riders can understand and put to work.
THE GOAL
There is no single formula for every horse or rider. The goal is to understand what is in front of us, identify what needs to improve, and build from there.
